It’s release day: Megafaun’s gem, Gather, Form & Fly, is now available in physical and digital stores in North America, as well as from Hometapes. The 2xLP and CD have been road-tested these past two weeks (as Megafaun tours with Bowerbirds), and many of you have seen, held, and heard the album. I’ve met you at the merch table. We’ve pondered the etching, the newsprint poster, the colors, and the pictures. The little things that make record packaging magical. All the while knowing that the paper and plastic are a gateway to something so completely eternal, something that will take up residence in your heart and head, just as it sits on your shelf, floats around your car, or just stays on your iPod and withstands deletion for months, years, even.
We’re proud of this. We’re living this. Today marks the release of a record, but it also stands for that feeling in our guts that knows there’s no turning back. The whole Hometapes family is on fire. Today we send Megafaun down the river. And we’re all right behind you.
